Dr. Krupnick will provide an overview of Sexual Addiction. He will include a brief discussion of the viewing of child pornography and the impact that it has on both the viewer and the victims. In addition he will talk about the legal and clinical issues related to juveniles and adults who act out sexually. A brief overview of Megan’s Laws along with the proposed Adam Walsh Act’s Sex Offender Registration and Notification (SORNA) will be covered.
Martin Krupnick, PsyD is a Licensed Psychologist and Executive Director at IEP Youth Services in Freehold, and has a small private practice seeing both juveniles and adults. His areas of specialty include juveniles and adults with inappropriate sexual behaviors, and male victims of sexual assault. He is a founding member of the New Jersey Chapter of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (NJ-ATSA) as well as a founding member of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC-NJ). He is the Clinical Consultant to the NJ Juvenile Justice System Special Needs Assessment Panel (SNAP) which reviews all of the juveniles referred to the Pinelands Community Residential Program (serving youth who have committed a sexual offense) and the developer of the Monmouth County Probation Offenders Program (for juveniles who have committed a sexual offense and are placed on Probation). He was a member of the NJ Department of Corrections Sex Offender Management Committee which helped to establish some of the procedures for working with adult sex offenders.

Dr. Sasso will provide an overview of emerging and lesser known identities that will be appearing more in clinical practice. She will cover basics, including labels and what they mean. She will then discuss clinical issues to consider with various groups as well as barriers to identity disclosure, and making clinical space for less culturally established identities. Topics will include sexual orientation (including sexual fluidity, non-monosexual identities, and the asexuality spectrum), transgender, genderqueer and other gender spectrum identities, sex and gender diverse couples (including non-monogamous and mixed orientation couples), and BDSM/Kink. Discussion will include special therapeutic alliance issues and ethical gatekeeping with gender variant clients.
Stephanie Sasso, PsyD has a private practice in Highland Park. She works with a diverse group of adolescents and adults, with specialties in sex and gender diverse identities, sexual problems, and couples. Dr. Sasso holds an undergraduate degree in gender studies, completed her graduate work at Rutgers/GSAPP, and is in final stages of completing AASECT Sex Therapy Certification. She helped develop Gender Spectrum therapy groups for gender variant youth and young adults as well as their parents at the Institute for Personal Growth, where she completed post-doctoral sex-therapy training, and continues to practice part-time. In addition to being the MCAP Membership Chair and President Elect, Dr. Sasso is involved in advocacy for gender and sexually diverse groups in school, community, and virtual settings.
